Question:

Hello. I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee with factory-installed crossbars silver, and am looking for a roof rack and kayak carrier for the vehicle. I anticipate the need to hold 3 kayaks in the future, including one of the Lifetime 6 foot kid kayaks. I do not have a kayak of my own yet but am petite and dont anticipate needing a kayak longer than 10. I like the idea of folding the rack down when I dont need it. I currently have in my cart Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars TH711200, Evo Raised Rail Feet for Thule Crossbars TH710401, and Thule The Stacker TH830. Would these options be good for my needs? If so, are there any additional accessories I need? Do you sell the locks for the carrier? Are there any set-ups you might recommend? Thanks so much for your help!

You are definitely off to the right start by replacing the OEM roof rack on your 2015 Jeep Cherokee with the Thule WingBar Evo Setup # TH711200 and # TH710401 and using it with the Thule The Stacker - Rooftop Multi-Kayak Carrier # TH830. You can use the 4-Cylinder Set # TH450400 to lock your roof rack, but The Stacker actually doesn't come with the ability to lock.

In addition to these items you'll also need 2 more tie-downs # 753-2030-02 and 2 buckle protectors # 853-5593 as well as a second set of the anchor tie-down kit # TH855XT.

I also recommend picking up the Rightline Gear Moki Door Step # RL100660 to assist you in loading up the kayaks.

The last thing to note is that this roof rack does have a 165 lb weight capacity but you want to verify the roof weight rating of your 2015 Cherokee and make sure you don't exceed that with your 3 kayaks.
