Question:

Hello I am hoping to get a response so I can buy some products from you. I wanted to make sure the Thule parts TH711420, TH710501, TH145010, TH450400, and TH890000 will fit my USA model 2019 Volkswagen Golf R? Currently I have no roof rack or attachments so I am wanting a roof rack and everything I need to carry my kayak. If these parts are incorrect or I need to add/remove some products please let me know as soon as possible. Thank you

For your 2019 VW Golf R, there is not a confirmed roof rack fit from any of our manufacturers. Each door frame has a custom fit kit and they currently don't make one that will fit your Golf R model. The # TH145010 you referenced is only a fit for the regular Golf years 2013-2019 and e-Golf years 2015-2019 so it won't fit the Golf R model.

My recommendation for you is to use the universal fit SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack - Vacuum Cup Mount - 48" Long - Black # 298-SX6000B. This roof rack uses vacuum cups with 210 lb pull strength for each cup to secure your bars to the roof. I've attached some videos to assist.

Then for your kayak carrier I recommend using the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style or Post Style - Folding - 1 or 2 Kayaks # Y04073 designed to work well with the round bar crossbars. This will also give you the nylon tie downs to secure 1 kayak to the rack as well as the bow and stern straps. The Thule # TH890000 you referenced will also fit the round bars.

This combination will work well for you and help you transport your kayak to the water safely.
