Question:

I have a trailer with a tongue weight of just over 1400 lbs can I get by with a 14000 wd sway hitch or do I got to go higher weight class thank you

If you have a tongue weight of 1,400 lbs a weight distribution with a higher tongue weight range would be ideal. Especially when you consider that the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle gets added as additional tongue weight.

So a higher rated system like the Equal-i-zer part # EQ64FR would be your best option as it has a tongue weight range of 1,200-1,600 lbs. You'll also need a thin-walled socket to install the ball # C40008 too with the # ALL643216.
