Does Grease Seal Thickness Matter More than Inner and Outer Diameter

Does the height of the seal matter? My seal is a NOK ad2527e when i cross reference it 473317 the height or thickness is what is different. My old one on my Ranger trailer is .5515 and the the 473317 is alot thinner?

The thickness of the grease seal like the # 168233 won't matter. You're really just worried about the inner and outer diameter of the seal, so as long as your seal cross references to the National Seal 473317 this will be the correct replacement.

Thickness won't really matter that much. The seal #34823 is .25 inch thick but if the inside and outside diameters match what you have it will work just fine.

In order to determine the torque rating for the lug nuts on your trailer you will need to know check out the chart I attached that shows all of the torque specs for all the trailer lugs available based on stud size, wheel material and wheel size.

Hey Zachary, are you sure you need the seal to be that thin? Normally variances in seal thicknesses doesn't really affect anything and replacing a thinner seal with a thicker one doesn't cause any issues. If that's case our part #58846…

90-120 ft lbs of torque is probably about right for your trailer rims. If you check out the lug nut torque chart that I attached you will see that nearly all of the torque specs are that and higher.
