It is possible to connect a brake controller to your 2020 Tesla Model 3. Since Tesla doesn't recommend towing with the Model 3 your best option is the Curt Echo # C51180 because it only need the basic lighting functions and 12V power for operation. This connects to your Apple or Android smart device via Bluetooth and that's how you change the settings. I've attached a review video for you to check out.
Now to complete your towing setup I recommend using the Stealth Hitches Kit # 391TES317T which comes with a trailer hitch, wiring, a ball mount and a receiver (for towing or accessories), and then you're also going to need the Wiring Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L and the Magnetic Mounting Bracket # 306-X6020 to complete the towing setup.
The best thing about the Stealth Hitches receiver is that you can remove the ball mount or receiver and the hitch is 100% hidden. This means when you aren't towing or using an accessory like a bike rack your Model 3 will look just like it came from the factory.
Attached are some installation and review videos that you can check out.
