Correct Slipper Spring for my 16 ft. Aluminum Jon Boat Trailer

Question:

I have an old boat trailer with 1.5” dia axle that needs new springs. There are no ID numbers anywhere on the trailer or axle, but the old springs are 4 leaf springs. The trailer is carrying a 16 ft aluminum Jon boat made of 1/8” aluminum. Would these springs be okay to use?

Yes as long as the dimensions are the same you will have no issues with using the 4-Leaf Slipper Spring w/ Radius End part # SP-179275. Most bare 16 ft jons come in under 500 lbs. so the capacity will be perfect for you even if you load it down with gear.
