Recommended Roof Rack for Two Kayaks for a 2012 Ford F-150 SuperCrew

Question:

Hi,Im looking for a roof rack for my 2012 Ford F150 crew cab,there is many options and is confusing.I intend to use it to carry 2 kayaks only .I read somewhere that there was a fitting issue with Thule and Yakima for my truck but dont know if the issue has been resolved.wich rack or racks you recomend? I just want to make sure it will fit my truck good and it will be safe and not come off on the highway

The Yakima Jetstream Crossbar System part # Y00426, part # Y28TR, and part # Y06168 is my favorite option for a 2012 Ford F-150 Super Crew and what I recommend. In regards to fit, Yakima and Thule have the best fitting options on the market so I would have absolutely zero concerns with safety/security. If I were going to place expensive items on the roof these are the roof racks I would use without a doubt as they both have a longstanding reputation for quality and longevity. The system above in particular will be ideal for kayaks as the crossbar overhang will give you the needed space and the aero bars are super quiet.

In order to place two kayaks on the roof you'll need to carry them on their side and the best option for this is the Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier part # Y04073. If you wanted to save cash you can carry both kayaks with one carrier using extra tie-downs, part # Y04031 and part # Y05006 otherwise you'd need two sets.
