Question:
Hello. I have a 2019 Nissan Frontier truck with a factor tow hitch and 7-way trailer wiring harness. I am wanting to add trailer brakes to my truck and was looking at some recommendations. I’m leaning towards the Redarc TowPro brake controller, part number 331-EBRH-ACCV2,3050-S, but wanted to get some input. Thanks for your time.

The Redarc # RED44FR Tow Pro Elite is a great product that I'd typically recommend to folks that are already moderately conversant with how brake controllers operate, as the user interface isn't super-intuitive. If the braking system is experiencing a problem, the control knob will display a series of different LED colors and flashes that you'll need to familiarize yourself with. Don't get me wrong, it's an awesome product but not the simplest to use for a novice.
Where the Redarc shines is the fact that its clean installation is the perfect choice for folks that don't like the looks of a traditional brake controller. The control knob can be mounted anywhere within the driver's reach, and an optional bezel you could use to dress up the installation is available as part # 331-TPSI-001. The remainder of the controller can be installed out of sight under the dash.
If you'd prefer something more user friendly, I'd recommend the Tekonsha P3, part # 90195 and the # 3050-P wiring harness. The P3 provides a display that spells out any problems with the braking system in plain English (or Spanish or French, if you prefer), instead of having to memorize what a bunch of colors and flashes means.
I've linked to an installation video showing the P3 being installed in a 2017 Frontier. The procedure shown would be identical for your 2019 model.
