hand winch cable with that fits a Shelby 5480A

Question:

Looking for a hand winch cable with safety hook to fit a boat trailer for a 22 ft boat with a Shelby 5480A winch rated at 3200 lbs. It seems this winch requires a cable as opposed to a belt. I see you have a 1/4inch x 50 foot cable at 3500 Lbs and also a 1/4inch x 25 foot cable but is rated at only 2500 lbs. Why is the rating reduced for the shorter cable? I dont need 50 ft.

The winch cable I recommend for a Shelby 5480A Boat Trailer Winch is the Fulton Galvanized Winch Cable with Hook part # FWC3250100 which measures 25' long and has the needed weight capacity. In regards to weight ratings, there are many factors that go into this. Therefore, just because one cable has a shorter length than another, that does not mean the shorter cable will have a higher weight capacity.
