You will first need to obtain trailer wiring to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # RED44FR on the 2018 Ford Edge. The Redarc will need to tie into the cold side of the brake light switch to function properly. First you will need a 4-way harness part # 118677 if the Ford Edge is a Sport or Titanium model, you will need part # 118669 if the Ford Edge is a SE or SEL model. The Tekonsha brand is a very reliable brand of wiring that tends to last a bit longer compared to the other brands.
Then you will need a 4-way to 7-way upgrade kit part # ETBC7. The kit comes with everything you need to install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite brake controller and a fully functional 7-way on the Edge. I have attached an installation video for all of the wiring and a diagram for your reference.
The Redarc brake controller is a nice choice because of it's sleek design that only requires a small knob be installed in plain view instead of a bulky brake controller box.
