When Do Bikes Need An Adapter Bar For Hanging Rack

The Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's, Children's, and Alternative Frame Bikes part # 64005 can be used with only 1 bike on the rack. It does not have to be used on all of the bikes. It is used to give step through bike frames like children's and women's bikes a horizontal cross tube to hang from. If your other bikes have a horizontal cross tube to hang evenly from you don't need an adapter for those bikes.

If your bike rack is a platform rack and has ratcheting arms that come down and lock on the cross tube then you may need an adapter bar if the ratcheting arm of the rack does not come down low enough to lock onto your bike frame.
