Replacement Lock Core for Thule Weekender 627 Cargo Box
Updated 05/12/2020 | Published 05/08/2020 >
Question:
Hello, I purchased a used Thule weekender cargo box, without a key. The face of the lock cylinder reads “183” there is no “n” in front of the numbers like I see online and in all the q and a threads. I ordered a replacement Thule key “n183” hoping it would solve my problem but it still won’t open the tumbler. The key appears to seat entirely into the cylinder. And it just won’t unlock. I have read that to change out the lock cylinder I would need a “universal replacement key” and the cylinder to be open. However, I cannot open my cylinder, what are the options for me to replace the lock cylinder if I cannot get it to unlock??????? Please help!

So you can add a replacement lock core to your Thule Weekender 627 cargo box, but the lock core does need to be unlocked to be able to use the universal master key and install new lock cores with the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450200.
It sounds like yours may still be locked, and since you used a key (the right one based on the number - there does not have to be an "N" on front of it), but it doesn't unlock, the only option is to use a locksmith to remove the lock.
I have added a link to a video review as well for you of the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450200.
