Question:
Does any body components have to be removed for this unit to fit? Do you have any less expensive tow plates to fit a 1998 Suzuki Sidekick 4-door JS model? I am interested in both the tow plate, tow bar, chains, and wiring. Thank you.

I checked the installation instructions for the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # 1007-2 that you referenced and you will need to remove the front bumper skin in order to install this base plate kit.
The Roadmaster Sterling Tow Bar # RM-576 would be a great choice for a tow bar, and it comes with safety cables, lighting wiring and quick disconnects.
For lighting I attached an FAQ article on how to pick out the best solution. Most states now require supplemental braking when flat-towing so I attached an FAQ article on supplemental braking for you to check out also.
Lastly, you will need to consult your owners manual to determine if your vehicle is flat-towable and if there are any restrictions on doing so.
