According my contact at Lippert, your best option is to use the Motor Upgrade Kit for Kwikee 26 Series Electric RV Steps part # LC379801 which replaces the motor, linkage, and control module on your Kwikee 26 Series steps made between 1999 and 2006. He also confirmed that these steps use their C linkage, not the A linkage.

While just the replacement motor for your original Kwikee 5973820 motor is available as part # LC379608, the gearbox you need is obsolete, which is why you need the update kit.
