Can the Furrion Vision S System Be Used on a Tractor Trailer

Published 04/10/2020

Question:

We are looking at the product for our tractor trailer delivery trucks. We currently use wired options but installation is always a cost and a breakdown point. Do you believe this is the correct product for us? Secondly, can we splice off the power from our running lights for the back camera? If not, what do you recommend? Thank you.

The Furrion Vision S # FOS05TASF has a wireless range of over 400 feet, so this system will work well with a truck the size of a tractor trailer. You can wire this system in a variety of different ways depending on how you want it to operate. If you're looking for it to operate when the truck's running lights are activated, you would simply splice into the running light circuit as you've mentioned, and it will give you a video feed to the monitor whenever they're turned on. If you're just using the one camera, you could also wire it directly to a 12v battery and install a switch in-line so that it could be turned on and off as needed.

If you also wanted to add side marker light cameras you can use the Marker Light Side Cameras # FCE48TASL to provide you with the ability to not only see the back of the trailer, but the sides as well.
