Will the bolts that secure the wheel to the bracket accept locking lug nuts?

The bolts that come with the etrailer Spare Tire Carrier for Trailer with Angle-Iron Railing # e99045 are M12 size bolts which you could use a locking lug nut designed for that size with. Since that size is pretty rare a better option might be the part # e98892.

I'm not sure there's an ideal method for actually locking the carrier itself to the frame. You could use a standard cable lock like # e98891 to weave through the wheel and around the frame rail. Adding the Spare Tire Lock # e98892 to the wheel will also work really well as a deterrent as most thieves likely wouldn't bother trying to remove the carrier if they see the wheel is locked.

My trailer uses Ford pickup truck wheels which are 5 on 5 1/2 bolt circle. Largers bolt circles are listed, but not for 5 on 5 1/2". Why won't that wheel fit this unit? Thanks,
