What Type of Brake Fluid to Use with Kodiak Brake Assemblies
Published 04/06/2020 >
Question:
I bought three of this hydraulic brake conversion kit and a HydraStar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes - 1,600 psi to go with it. How much brake fluid will I need to purchase in order to fill and bleed the system and do you recommend DOT3 or DOT4 fluid.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Kodiak recommends DOT 3 brake fluid with their brake kits like the # K2HR79 that you referenced. Most applications can easily flush and be filled with a liter or quart so that's what I would grab at your local auto parts store.
