How to Use the Yakima LockNLoad Platform Roof Tray On a Camper Shell

Question:

I would like to mount this 60X54 Yakima Lock N Load rack on my camper shell that has no existing rails or crossbars. I would like to get some kind of back bone like the Rhino rack or low profile mount. What do I need?

In order to mount the Yakima LockNLoad Platform Roof Tray part # Y05045 on a truck bed camper shell I recommend using the Yakima HardTop SL Roof Rack part # Y01618 because it's a complete all around system that has everything that you need. It comes with adjustable tracks to accommodate many different roof rack accessories and aero crossbars for the best wind resistance. It's also low profile at around 4-6" tall.

Unfortunately, there isn't any sort of Rhino-Rack Backbone Mounting System that can be used on a camper shell or that can be used with the Yakima LockNLoad Platform Roof Tray.
