That's a good question so I checked with Curt, and can verify for you that the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 5-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56584 is a fit for your 2016 Chevy Colorado with the factory 7-way.
I also want to mention that we do always recommend using Dielectric Grease # 11755 with any new trailer connector to add protection to increase its durability and lifespan.
