Question:

I have heard that all of these locks have exactly the same key....meaning Customer A can unlock Customer B. Is that true?

I have a solution for you and I was a little bit surprised to hear this, so I reached out for confirmation from Blue Ox and they confirmed that you are correct on this. All of their locks in the Blue Ox Base-plate and Receiver Lock Kit # BX88177 have the exact same locks, so anybody with this product's keys would be able to unlock these locks. While this is highly unlikely that someone would be carrying around the same keys to your locks, I can understand this concern.

With that being said, I recommend usinig the etrailer # e98881 to lock your tow bar to your motorhome since it has the same 5/8" pin diameter and has a 3-5/8" span. To lock your baseplates to your tow bar you can use the Curt # C23517 since it has the same 1/2" diameter and 2-13/16" span as the Blue Ox lock sets. These locks are keyed uniquely so you'll never have to worry about someone having the same keys as you.
