Why is 12 Volt Test Light of Curt Adapter With 7-Way Staying On

Question:

Great wiring connector! However, I have yet to connect the battery in the tow vehicle to the 12v charge connection on the C57674. With that said, the 12v test light stays on if I have the trailer wire connected to my tow vehicle. It only goes out when I disconnect the trailer. Is the power from the battery on the trailer keeping this light lit? Thanks.

It is not surprising that the 12 volt indicator of the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole and 4 Pole with Test Lamps # C57674 even though you are't connected to 12 volt power in your vehicle. You mentioned that you were connected to the battery of the trailer and that when you disconnected the adapter the light went out. The adapter is simply sensing the 12 volt power from the trailer battery, as you mentioned.
