Can the Furrion Vision S Camera Be Used To Replace the Center Overhead Clearance Light
Updated 02/24/2020 | Published 02/23/2020 >
Question:
2017 Mallard M27 Trailer - This trailer did NOT come with a mount for the Furrion backup camera. It does have three running lights mounted high in the center on the back. I have seen the camera mounted both above and below the the center running light with power drawn from that light. Is there a reason the center light cannot be removed and the camera mounted in its place? Would the mounting screws for the light and the camera mount be in the same location so there would be no need to drill new holes? Thanks for your help.

In regards to the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System part # FOS05TASF, the reason you don't see the camera mounting bracket used in place of one of the three overhead clearance lights is because these lights (all three) are required by law for trailers that meet certain size/weight etc. so you risk a fine if one or all are removed. Therefore, I must recommend you install the camera mounting bracket below or above the three lights. You can still power all three lights and the camera with the pre-ran power wire though, just splice in.
The four mounting holes on the camera mounting bracket are spaced 3-3/4" apart left to right and 15/16" apart top to bottom.
