Question:

What would I need to modify on this grill guard so it would fit the 6 lug 1500 2007 classic? I need this heavier grill guard due to how this truck is used.

The Westin HDX Grille Guard with Punch Plate # 57-1915 is designed to fit on the 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 1500 HD, so as long as you have the HD version this grille guard will fit. If you have the LD, it will not fit on your truck regardless of modifications because of the different mounting points that are available on the LD truck compared to the HD truck. Grille guards are designed to be vehicle specific because of the different mounting points across different models and makes and modifying them to fit different vehicles can effect the structural integrity of the guard and is not recommended.

If you have a Silverado Classic 1500 LD you can use the # 57-1175 which has the same 2" tubing as the # 57-1915 but with the correct mounting spots that are used with the LD version of the truck.
