Can I use a Hitch Adapter With the Torklift Lock and Load TLA7752

Question:
I have a 2017 RPod 172 and the rear receiver is a 1inch receiver. Can I use a 1inch to 2inch adaptor and still be able to use the TLA7752 safely? I will be using the rack to carry a Honda 3000k generator. About 75lbs.
