Question:

Does this product work with the original style rails? I believe I purchased the system circa 2004. It was ordered for an 04 f-150. But the same rack has been on all my trucks since then. Fords, chevys, gmcs, and a bunch of rams. Currently it’s on a 19 ram 2500. I’ve had the part before. It just slides on the rail.

Unfortunately, my contact at Thule confirmed that the TracRac Toolbox Mount Kit # TH25200, cannot be retrofitted to the old style TracRac rails.

The correct rails for your 2019 Ram 2500 with the 6-1/2 Foot Bed (without RamBox) are part # TH21501. However, these rails are only going to work with the current Thule Track Rack SR Sliding Ladder Rack # TH43003XT, so the only solution that will allow you to keep the toolbox on your truck is to replace the old system with the new one. For the cantilever, you'd want part # TH24002XT.

It sounds like you've gotten a lot of good use out of your Thule ladder rack, so although not ideal, it may just be time to retire it and go with a new one. You at least can rest assured that the new rack, just like all Thule products, are made to last for years to come.
