Question:

Hi..... Is it normal for the pin that goes into the side or the receiver to still be able to be pulled out even when tightened and locked by the knob?

Once the Thule EasyFold XT 2 E-Bike Platform Rack part # TH903202 tightening pin should not be loose enough to pull out when tightened. It shouldn't be able to be pulled out once the knob is locked. However once the knob is locked with the key the knob will spin freely. You want to make sure you are securely turning the locking knob before locking it to tighten up the connection. I have attached a video for your reference, he tightens up the connection at the 3:30 time stamp. If the connection is still loose please let me know and we can troubleshoot further.
