Question:

Can you recommend a fifth wheel hitch for my 2020 Ram gas 1500 6-1/2 foot bed? I don't have the pucks in the truck bed, but I don't want rails sitting in my truck bed. Is that at all possible?

It's certainly possible!

We have an option from B&W that will work great for you unless your Ram has the factory air suspension option. You'd use the B&W Turnover ball goosneck hitch, part # BWGNRK1319-5W as an attachment point for the # BWRVK3400-5W Companion sliding fifth wheel hitch. This option will allow you to tow both fifth wheel and goosneck trailers for tons of flexibility. Once the hitch is removed, there will not be any obstructions remaining in the bed so you'll have full use of it.

You'll most likely also want to install a 7-way in the truck bed, you can do so using part # 50-97-410.

The B&W Patriot Sliding Fifth Wheel Hitch you've looked at, part # BWRVK3270 would work with your truck, but you'd need the # BWRVK2604 installation rails that would be permanently mounted in the truck bed which isn't what you were looking for.
