Question:

I have a 2019 Ridgeline Sport. The dealer has installed the Honda OEM tailgate manual key lock kit. Will this work in conjunction with that kit to allow the tailgate to operate with the central locking system?

For your 2019 Honda Ridgeline I recommend the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock # PAL8600. It's customized to fit your Ridgeline's OEM tailgate handle, and fits inside the factory mechanism. It is compatible if your Ridgeline has a back up camera as well. Since you have the OEM manual locking tailgate, no replacement handle is needed, and keeping the factory painted one looks nicer in the end. It wires into your door locks so when you lock or unlock your doors, your tailgate will too.

The kit you're referencing # PL8630, is confirmed to fit, but is designed to work with the Pop and lock replacement handle # PL6200. It provides power to upgrade the manual locking handle to a power lock.

As far as the installation goes, it's pretty straight forward, it can be done at home with some basic hand tools in your driveway or garage. Once piece of advice I can give you is to leave all the panels off until you are completely finished with the wiring, it not only gives you room to tie up any excess slack, but it's much easier to test and make any adjustments rather than removing the panels again. I linked a video of the installation when we had a 2019 Honda Ridgeline in the shop, it also had a factory manual locking tailgate handle.
