All of the Rhino-Rack Awnings, like the Batwing Awning # RR33100 you referenced, require that the roof rack has T-Slots to install. I'm not sure what crossbars came on a Subaru Baja but I'm pretty sure that they didn't have the newer style T-Slot so if you are wanting to utilize your current roof rack you need to go with the Thule HideAway Awning # TH490008 with the Adapter Kit # TH490001 as it is the only option that clamps around the roof rack crossbars. Just note that the crossbar spread (center of front to center of rear) can't be less than 36".
