Question:
I’m considering the Anderson ultimate fifth wheel hitch and I have a question about whether it will fit With my existing auxiliary fuel tank. I have exactly 12 inches between the bed mounted slot for the gooseball and the front of the auxiliary fuel tank. I see from the diagram that there is 7’’ from the top gooseball to the edge of the Anderson hitch base. Is the top gooseball directly over the bed mounted gooseball? Bottom line, Will the Anderson hitch fit with my current configuration? Many thanks for your help.

The base itself for the gooseneck version of the Andersen Ultimate Connection 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch (which we don't have available - the dimensions you referred to are for the rail-mounted version) provides a 5" offset from the hitch ball location in the bed.
From the center of the gooseneck ball in your truck bed to the edge of the base, there will be a distance off about 14" on the gooseneck mount model. This won't be enough to provide you with the necessary clearance to avoid contact with your existing tank.
With your auxiliary tank in place, I think your best option is going to be with a king pin adapter like the Convert-A-Ball # CAB-C5G. This will bolt up to the 5th wheel trailer's king pin and connect directly to the gooseneck ball in your truck, eliminating the need for a larger base to mount inside the bed. I have attached a short video review on this product below that you can check out as well.
