Question:

I want to tow a small Coleman pop-up camper that weighs about 1000 lbs with my 2020 Odyssey. What hitch and wiring do I need?

Expert Reply:

The best hitch alternative for you will depend on how visible you'd like the hitch to be. If you'd rather not have the entire hitch visible, the Curt # C64NR which is mostly concealed would be my recommendation. On the upside, this hitch offers 1-1/2 inches more ground clearance, which is important in a minivan. However, the installation is more involved and would require temporarily removing the rear bumper cover. If you're not terribly concerned if the hitch is visible and the reduced ground clearance isn't an issue for you, then the Curt # C13370 would work fine.

For a wiring harness, use part # 118781 and for a ball mount, # C45297 would work well for you. Your pop-up likely uses a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball like # 19260, but if you needed a 2 inch ball, use # 63845.
