Breakaway Kit to Comply with DOT Regulations when Using the Carlisle HydraStar Actuator

Question:
With the Hydrastar hydraulic over electric coverter, is the matching Hydrastar break away kit the only option, or would it work with any of the other break away kits? Thank you

The Break-Away Kit and Battery, part # HBA-EBA, for the Hydrastar Electric-Hydraulic Actuator, part # HBA-10, is the correct unit to provide power to the hydraulic pump for the specified amount of time to meet DOT regulations.
The battery in this breakaway kit is a 17 amp-hour rated battery, and most normal breakaway kits for standard electric trailer brakes only utilize a 5 amp-hour battery and would not provide power to meet DOT regulations with the Hydrastar unit.
If a breakaway kit comes with a 17 amp-hour rated battery, then it could be used with the Hydrastar unit and would comply with DOT regulations. The # HBA-EBA Break-Away Kit and Battery is the only 17 amp-hour rated unit we have available at this time.
