Question:

what purpose does the puck and gooseneck serve with a shortbed when nobody makes anything to fit it? All I see is sliders that require holes drilled everywhere in the bed

I understand that your options may be limited with a short bed Nissan Titan xD with the factory Gooseneck and Pucks, but you do have the option of a no-drill installation with the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Nissan Titan XD OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package # DM6200. This rail adapter kit drops into the OEM puck system on your Titan and provides above bed rails to mount a 5th wheel hitch without any drilling required.

This installation kit can then be used to mount a variety of 5th wheel hitches that use the industry standard rails, including the Demco Hijacker Autoslide hitches like the # DM8550034. The Hijacker slides automatically as you drive to give you 14" of additional clearance for tight turns, so no more getting in and out of the vehicle to lock/unlock the slider.
