I found 2 wired plugs under the left kick panel. they were taped together. What trailer break controller and wiring harness should It use?

The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # RED44FR is what I recommend for a 2019 GMC Canyon. The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite is one of the best options on the market and the only one with both user controlled and proportional braking modes which allows you to take full control of your trailer's brakes. The best feature however in my mind is the hidden design in which only the control knob is visible. This hidden design will give a very factory like appearance when used with the Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # 331-TPSI-001 and you don't have to worry about hitting your knee like you would for a standard brake controller.
As mentioned, the brake controller wires are already present so once you find these under the dash the rest is just mating these up with the control box and mounting the knob.
