Question:

Hi, here’s what we have: 2018 Nissan Titan XD 4x4 Diesel w/utility-track cargo management rails in truck. Camper is 2020 Forest River Grey Wolf 29TE with power tongue jack. Weight dib/sway Fastway e2 10K. So, we have purchased 2 E-Bikes that weigh about 55 lbs. each. What is the best option for carrying these E-Bikes when also towing the camper? I do not want to hang them on the back bumper of camper due to weight and stability concerns. I’m not opposed to putting the bikes in the truck bed. Will the TH93VR work?

Because the Thule Insta-Gater Pro Truck Bed Single Bike Rack # TH93VR rack drops into the tailgate opening of your 2018 Nissan Titan XD and secures when tailgate closes, using two of these is a feasible option for you.

It's important to point out that the Insta-Gater does have a 50 lb weight limit which may potentially work if you remove the batter of your e-bikes. We don't have any other truck bed racks that have a higher capacity and are compatible with your Utili-track system.

The only other option would be to use a towing bike rack like the Curt Clamp-On 3 Bike Rack for 2" Ball Mounts - Towing # C18013, which maxes out at 135 lbs total. This rack would clamp around your 2" ball mount and sit between the back of your Titan and the front of your Grey Wolf. It does require 1-1/2" of space on the shank of the ball mount to be able to fit.
