Question:
Hi there. Looking for a good trailer brake controller for my new 2019 Tundra. I would really like something that looks nice. I don't want a shin bruiser. Have my eyes on the Curt Spectrum and Redarc Tow Pro Elite. Can you shed any light on these and pick one that you prefer? Thanks!

Both the Curt Spectrum # C51170 and Redarc Tow Pro Elite # RED44FR are fantastic brake controllers, especially with regards to trying to maintain a sleek, clean appearance in the cab once they're installed and in place. Both units are designed specifically with this in mind, but I think the Redarc Tow Pro Elite does a bit of a better job.
The Tow Pro Elite has a smaller footprint than the Spectrum, with a knob that measures just 3/4" wide compared to Spectrum that has an overall diameter of 1-3/4". This is a whole inch smaller, which just allows for greater versatility in terms of where you can choose to mount it (I have attached a few images to give you some ideas).
I also like the soft LED light that Redarc uses for the Tow Pro Elite, which just adds to its unassuming design while still being plenty bright enough to clearly indicate its settings, power, etc.
On top of the physical design, the Tow Pro Elite also offers the unique ability to switch between a proportional unit and a manual controller. This means you're always going to be in complete control when towing, whether you're cruising down the highway or traversing through off-road terrain.
This is definitely my pick for your 2019 Tundra to maintain that OEM feel inside the truck. I have attached a short video demonstration that you can check out as well.
