Question:
I currently have a 12v line through to my camper trailer to charge the camper battery when on tow. I realise now that I probably have a smart alternator as the trailer battery never gets full . If i install a 12v to 12v redarc charger can i use it to charge the trailer AND a second battery that i plan to fit to the car or will it only do one or the other?

To charge a trailer battery with a vehicle that has a smart alternator does require the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D with the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger Relay # 331-RK1260 like you mentioned if you don't have access to a ignition power source. See picture for further explanation and how to wire it up.
If the batteries are wired in parallel you could charge both of them with this charger but you wouldn't be able to charge them individually with a single charger.
