The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-0800 is compatible with surge brakes. The tongue weight rating of the 8,000 lb system is between 400 lbs - 800 lbs tongue weight so if 7,000 lbs is your empty trailer weight then this system may underrated for you since tongue weight is 10-15% of the loaded weight of the trailer.

I recommend to use the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control part # FA94-00-1000 which is rated for trailers with a tongue weight from 600 lbs-1,000 lbs. The design of the Fastway allows for steel-on-steel friction with the spring bars to keep the trailer in line so you don't experience the terrifying sway of your whole setup when a semi passes you on the highway. With this system you will also need a hitch ball part # EQ91-00-6100 for a 2-5/16" ball or part # A-90 for a 2" ball. This system is also surge brake compatible.
