Question:
When they installed the hitch they also installed a curt #55441. Things seemed fine when I left the installer but was stopped on my way home and told I had no tail lights. Turns and brake work fine. I checked the brown wire and it has no power. Can you help with what I need. Trailer is an older Pequea utility with no brakes.

There are two different Curt options for trailer wiring for your 2009 Frontier, # C55441 for vehicles that have the tow package and # C56225 for vehicles that do not. Both use the same pigtail with the 4-pin trailer connector that installs at the rear of the vehicle, but if you install the C55441 on a vehicle that doesn't have the tow package, the running lamps and the 12-volt accessory circuit will not work.
Long story short, you need the # C56225 that includes the jumper harness and the relays that install behind the kick panel in the passenger side footwell as shown in the video I've linked for you.
