I was able to confirm with Curt that the Class III hitch part # C13400 will fit the 2020 Subaru Ascent. The installation is very easy without any drilling required however you may need to enlarge a couple of access holes in the frame with a file. I have attached an installation video on a 2019 (it will be the same) and photo for your reference.
I recommend the 49x22-1/2 Curt Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Black part # C18113 because its aluminum and only weighs 25 lbs so it will be easier for you to take in and out of the hitch. It also comes with reflectors so it's easier to see for the person behind you on the road.
