Updated 04/02/2012 | Published 03/31/2012 >
Question:
My trailer frame I beam Alum. is 3inch wide and 5inch tall. I was wondering if I could use washer/lock washers and make the 4x5 u-bolt work? Thanks

I would recommend to use the correct trailer jack for the 3 x 5 inch trailer frame, instead of trying to modify something to work. The Fulton F2 Trailer Jack, part # F1413130334, that you have referenced is designed for 3 x 5 inch trailer frames.
The Fulton Trailer Jack, part # FXP15, with a single wheel and the Fulton Trailer Jack, part # FXPD15L, with the dual wheels are both rated at 1,500 lbs. They are both designed to bolt-on to a 3 x 5 inch frame. It would work fine on your aluminum I-beam trailer frame. I would recommend to make sure the trailer jack you purchase will match or surpass the tongue weight rating on your trailer.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on trailer jacks.
