Replacing Breakaway Switch Cable on Boat Trailer

Updated 09/16/2019 | Published 09/14/2019

Question:

So yesterday Friday the 13 I did a stupid thing. I was in a hurry and did not couple the boat trailer. YES I broke the break away cable. The coupler is a Awood 6000 pound . I purchased it from you some years ago.. the cable messages about 24 inches at point of the break in it plus what ever is in cupler. Do you sell this cable? Thanks for your help

I wasn't able to track down your order history but I can absolutely help you with a replacement. The easiest solution at this point is going to just be to replace both the breakaway switch and cable, as the cables themselves are really brand/model specific. This means unless you are able to determine exactly what model/brand breakaway system you have it's going to be pretty difficult to pinpoint the right cable.

For a replacement switch and cable set I specifically recommend the # 3802348, which is rated for up to 3 axles and features a 4' cable. The switches themselves are pretty interchangeable between different manufacturers so this will work great with whatever you have.

I have attached a short video review that you can check out as well.
