The etrailer brand Sidewind Drop Leg Jack you looked at, part # TJD-5000S is actually made up of an outer tube, an inner tube that extends and retracts by actuating the crank and a drop leg that fits inside the inner tube. The drop leg can indeed be removed if necessary by removing the included snapper pin. The inner-most tube/drop leg has a series of 5 holes that further allow you to adjust the height of the jack. The jack provides a total lift of 28-3/4 inches, with 15-1/4 inches of that being the portion actuated by the crank and the remaining 13-1/2 inches from the drop leg. If you click the provided link, you can view a product description video featuring this jack.
