Can A 4.80/4.50-8 Replace A 4.80/4-8 Tire

Question:

Im looking for a tube tire that reads 4.80/4.50-8 for a dolly but all I can find are tires that read 4.80/4-8. Will this tire work as a replacement? What exactly is the difference? Thanks

I confirmed with our in-house trailer tire expert that the Kenda K371 Bias Trailer Tire # AM10004 is a suitable replacement for a 480/4.50-8 tire. It is possible to use a tubeless tire on a wheel designed for tube tires without a tube. The wheel has to be a one-piece wheel that has a hole for a valve stem and a flap to help seal the tire to the wheel.

The 4.80/4.00-8 tire replaces a variety of older trailer tires that are no longer in production and is close enough in size that the less than 1/2" difference in section height is not an issue.
