Question:
I have a 2017 Nissan Armada SV. I have already purchased and installed Part #119147KIT, so I have an existing 4-pole connection. I want to install ETBC7 so that I have both 4 and 7-pole connections available, but I am going to wait and install a brake controller later. Your wiring instructions for ETBC7 say to attach a ground to the frame and a hot lead to the vehicle battery. Do I still need to do this if I am not yet connecting a brake controller and I already have the 4-pole converter grounded and wired into the positive battery terminal? Since I am connecting the existing 4-pole to the combination 4 and 7-pole unit in Part #119147KIT, doesnt the lighting already have the power and ground necessary?

Expert Reply:
Yes you still need to ground the white wire for the Wiring Kit # ETBC7 because there are some additional functions that come with the 7-Way plug. You can actually use the same ground point that you used for your Vehicle Wiring Harness Kit # C59496 if it is nearby, otherwise you'll need to find another suitable location for this second ground.
