Installing Lippert Components Power Gear Manual Leveling Control Kit on Older Power Gear Kit
Updated 12/30/2020 | Published 08/28/2019 >
Question:
We recently purchased and received from your company the Lippert LC359259. There were no instructions of any kind included. It’s obvious the one end of the wiring harnesses inserts into the appropriate plugs. But, what about instructions for connecting the loose wires on the other end? As this is a replacement unit and the wiring harnesses included as some of the buttons controlling the functions have changed, how are we to know how to attach the wires on the ends opposite from the plugs?

I reached out to my contact at Lippert and he said that it sounds like you have an older Power Gear Manual Leveling kit that had the ground running from the solenoid to the control board. This new kit, part # LC359259, can be used as a replacement but it gives power to the solenoid from the control board which means that what was normally the ground for the solenoid is now power so you need to change the wiring that used to be used to power and now ground that side of the solenoid.
I am attaching a wiring diagram that my contact sent me for the older style so you can get an idea of what you'll be looking for with the solenoid.
If you are uncomfortable or unsure of this installation I'd reach out to your local dealer or shop and have them do the install for you.

i have the older style power gear manual leveling kit. like pictured in your answer to question for lillie v. my question is on the LC359259 key pad,I believe its connectors are an 8 pin,6 pin and a 4 pin. the old pad had an 8 pin 6 pin and a 2 pin. 2 pin according to the old drawing is for jacks down red button on my unit. i am guessing in the new LC 359259 key pad that 2 of the 4 pin connectors are for the jacks down. which 2 ? If nothing else can I run lift jacks without the 2 pins connected for the jacks down, so in reality I would only use the 6 pin and the 8 pin connector. i liked to get the newer kit just need to make sure, I have everything wired right. being able to have the jacks down button light up would be nice thanks for any help
