Replacement Control Kit for Power Gear 500457 Module

Question:

I believe the module has failed on my power gear system, what would be the replacement/upgrade for the following. Power gear keypad #500456 and module #500457. 2003 Monaco LaPalma coach.

I reached out to my contact at Lippert and he said that both the Keypad 500456 and the 500457 module are obsolete but the Replacement Components Kit # LC359259 will work perfectly to replace both components. This will get your system back up and running while also upgrading it to the current design.

It sounds a bit like there could be an issue with the battery power source. I would start by making absolute sure the battery you're hooked up to is still in good condition and fully charged. You should be getting at least 13V of power from the battery. Also make sure the connections are still secure and there isn't any corrosion interfering with the connection.

what is the red wire on replacment kit lc359259 used for. my module has power without the red wire hooked up, also my coach is pluged in jacks running but do not deploy, ill check voltage.

From what I could find, it looks like the red wire needs to connect to 12V power. The diagram I found showed it spliced to an orange 12V wire and a fuse but I'm not sure if that's the same color you'll find on your system - it's always best to check the wires for function before making any connections.
