Updated 07/17/2024 | Published 08/28/2019

Question:

My jacks are not fully extended, my trailer is level but the error out of stroke keeps coming on. I am in the mountains on uneven terrain but have used proper blocks so it should not be issue. When im at home and use jacks i never get error message only up here in mountains

I spoke with one of the Techs over at Lippert and they have seen this before when there is some sort of lack of power or delay in power caused by a weak battery. In order to confirm this, you'll need to disconnect from any type of shore power you might have connected (solar panels, etc.) and check the voltage going from the battery to the control unit of the system.

If you're getting the full 12v, you may want to check the wiring of the # LC358590 to make sure that all of your wiring is in good condition. Make sure that nothing has come loose on the ground wires and that there aren't any cut wires that could be causing the power to drain when going to the ground control system.

If you've checked the battery and wiring and this still isn't solving your problem, let me know and I can walk you through a few other things to check.

I just bought a brand new 2024 Cougar and I am getting the error code "Jack rr out of stroke". Can you help?

@Jack The "out of stroke" error generally means you have extended the jack too far. If the jack will not retract using the touchpad then you will need to do so manually with the manual override. If you continue to get an "out of stroke" error or you cannot manually retract the jack then that would point to signs of damaged internals which means the jack leg would need to be replaced.
