Is the Mopar Flat Tow Performance Kit Needed for a 2019 Jeep Cherokee

We just bought a 2019 jeep Cherokee and the manual refers to purchase of the mopar flat tow wiring kit to activate the power steering while towing. Is this necessary?

According to my research, the Mopar Flat Tow Performance Kit 68321424AB is no longer needed on a 2019 Jeep Cherokee as it was for previous model years because revisions have been made to the power steering system to aid stability. That said, only the models with Active Drive II Transfer Case can be flat-towed which I believe is only available on the Trailhawk. I have attached some parts you will need to flat-tow below if you are interested.
