Does Rear Fascia Need to be Trimmed to Install Curt Trailer Hitch on 2019 Honda CR-V

Question:
I really like the Curt hitches for my 2019 CR-V and I'm wondering if I need to do any trimming to the fascia when I install them. Will the smaller hitch mean less trimming or is there really that much of a difference? Looking to use this hitch to carry my bikes.

There is some fascia trimming involved for both the 1-1/4" # C12169 and the 2" C13397 Curt trailer hitches that fit your 2019 Honda CR-V. I recommend going with the 2" receiver because it actually calls for less trimming (not sure how) and the larger receiver gives you more options for accessories (and a wider range of bike racks to choose from). I have attached an installation video and a sample picture for you to see what the finished product looks like.
It is worth noting that if you have a higher-end package with the Hands-Free Liftgate feature you need to contact your local Honda dealer to purchase a sensor relocation kit so this feature remains active. This is the case for any of the trailer hitches with the hidden crosstube.
If you don't already have a bike rack then I highly recommend the Kuat Transfer # KU74FR because it features a unique u-shaped frame design that helps make loading and removing your bikes much easier, plus the tilting/folding features are activated by the foot pedal which gives you complete control when you need rear hatch access or extra clearance at the back of your CR-V.
We actually shot a video of this bike rack installed on a 2019 CR-V that I have linked to this page for you to see what this bike rack would look like on your vehicle.
